White & Case Wins Inaugural TrustLaw Anniversary Award for Its Pro Bono Work
White & Case won the inaugural Anniversary Award from TrustLaw, the pro bono referral arm of the Thomson Reuters Foundation, at the fifth annual TrustLaw Awards ceremony in London on September 24, 2015. The TrustLaw Awards celebrate the exceptional work done by the legal teams in the TrustLaw network with high impact NGOs and social enterprises around the world.
The inaugural Anniversary Award recognizes White & Case's work on more than 100 TrustLaw-referred matters ranging from research on the interaction of domestic law and the Domestic Workers Convention that changed law and strengthened domestic worker protections in the Philippines to numerous corporate matters for nonprofits working in emerging economies to mapping the landscape for social entrepreneurship and social investment in Turkey and presenting our findings at a major microfinance conference.
"This award is especially gratifying as it recognizes the effort made by White & Case since our pro bono practice was launched five years ago," says partner Ian Forrester, Head of the Firm's Global Pro Bono Practice. "TrustLaw is a superbly run pro bono organization that offers us a chance to help change the world in achievable steps. One hundred cases is quite a caseload and it has been a pleasure to observe that the TrustLaw people and the White Case lawyers have enjoyed meeting the challenge."
