The White & Case Financial Restructuring and Insolvency team have won the Institute for Turnaround Legal Advisor Award for 2011 based on the work they have done on Wind Hellas.
Partner Mark Glengarry accepted the award on behalf the Firm at a dinner in London. Partners Mark Glengarry and Christian Pilkington led the White & Case team, working through complex legal issues to deliver a platform for the successful restructuring of Wind Hellas, one of the largest restructurings of 2010.
The Institute for Turnaround noted that the award was given for "The creative legal solutions involved, and the use of an unprecedented mix of multi-jurisdictional restructuring tools."
The €1.8bn restructuring of the Wind Hellas group was successfully concluded following a six-month process led by a 25-strong team from White & Case as English law legal adviser, and included a UK-based scheme of arrangement and five administrations of group companies.
