White & Case ranks second globally in PLC Which lawyer?'s "2012 Restructuring and Insolvency Super League." PLC states that the Super League encompasses the best firms according to their research, which have the highest number of recommendations for their practices and lawyers in advisory and administrator side work, and which are spread over at least two continents.
According to PLC, White & Case "is able to deal with the full spectrum of insolvency practitioners and creditors." Pointing to "a significant presence in the US," PLC stated that "the firm also has top-tier practices in Germany (with Biner Bähr on the advisory side and Sven-Holger Undritz on the administrator side), Czech Republic (Jiri Tomola and David Plch) and across Eastern Europe."
In addition, PLC noted that Christian Pilkington's arrival to White & Case in 2010 "added insolvency expertise to a wider banking and capital markets base in London, and that "in the context of Centre of Main Interest (COMI) shifting from other jurisdictions to make use of English Schemes of Arrangement legislation, as exemplified by Primacom, the London office has been important."
PLC also highlighted the Firm's work acting as lead legal advisors in 2011 to Kaupthing hf in relation to its winding-up proceedings and advising, as co-counsel, the steering committee of private creditors of the Hellenic Republic on the terms of the private sector involvement in restructuring €206 billion of Greek debt.
