Global law firm White & Case LLP has further expanded its global private equity practice and presence in Asia with the addition of Peggy Wang as a partner in its Hong Kong office.
"Private equity in Asia will continue to see increasing opportunities," said White & Case partner Eric Berg, Head of Asia. "Peggy's extensive private equity experience will be a valuable asset as we continue to broaden our M&A client base across Asia and expand our role advising corporates, private equity firms and financial institutions.
"Peggy's arrival, following the recent arrival of corporate partner KS Kim, reflects our growing ambition to strengthen our M&A capabilities in Asia."
Wang has extensive experience advising private equity houses and financial institutions on public and private mergers and acquisitions, including hybrid equity and other structured investments. She joins White & Case from Linklaters and brings more than 16 years of experience.
"Peggy has an impressive track record and will enable us to meet both the growing needs of our clients in Asia and those investing in Asia from other parts of the world," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. "The addition of Peggy, who brings to White & Case substantial experience and client relationships, supports the Firm's strategic plans to grow our global private equity business."
Since the beginning of 2014, White & Case has expanded its global private equity practice with the addition of eight new partners globally. In London, Ian Bagshaw, Richard Youle and Matthew Griffin joined the Mergers & Acquisitions group, Colin Harley and Martin Forbes - who have a dedicated focus on private equity sponsors – joined the banking group and equity capital markets partner Inigo Esteve, who supports the private equity team's advice on IPOs, joined the capital markets group. In Germany, partner Gernot Wagner joined the capital markets group in Frankfurt, advising PE houses on high yield offerings and public and private debt and equity. Last month, M&A/private equity partner KS Kim, and Wang's former colleague at Linklaters, joined the Firm, focusing on clients in Asia.
The addition of these new partners demonstrates the Firm's ongoing commitment to the pursuit of its strategic priorities, which include investing in the growth of the Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice.
