White & Case advises Providence on acquisition of majority stake in d&b

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Providence Equity Partners (Providence) on the acquisition of Ardian's majority stake in Cubes Holding GmbH (d&b). 

Founded in 1981 and headquartered in Backnang, Germany, d&b is one of the world's leading providers of professional audio, video, light and media solutions and services, and employs more than 1,000 people. 

Based in Rhode Island, United States, Providence is a specialist private equity investment firm focused on growth-oriented media, communications, education and technology companies across North America and Europe. Since it was founded in 1989, Providence has invested over US$35 billion across more than 170 private equity portfolio companies. 

Ardian is a private investment house managing or advising US$150 billion of assets on behalf of more than 1,400 clients globally, with offices across Europe, the Americas, Asia and the Middle East.

The transaction is expected to close by October 31, 2023, subject to necessary and customary closing conditions. As part of the transaction, d&b's management team will re-invest alongside Providence and continue to lead the company's day-to-day operations.
