White & Case Advises Synthos on Acquisition of Trinseo's Synthetic Rubber Business

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Synthos on the US$449.4 million acquisition of Trinseo's synthetic rubber business.

The transaction, which was announced on May 21, 2021, includes the acquisition of Trinseo's Germany-based manufacturing and research and development facilities. It will allow Synthos to broaden its product portfolio and extend its geographic footprint, including in Asia-Pacific. The deal is subject to customary closing conditions, including antitrust clearances, and is expected to close towards the end of 2021.

Poland-based Synthos is a European chemical producer and a leading global supplier of synthetic rubber with customers including Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear and Pirelli. Trinseo is a global materials company and manufacturer of plastics, latex binders and synthetic rubber.
