White & Case advises Blue Elephant Energy on acquisition of 381 MW wind portfolio

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Blue Elephant Energy GmbH (BEE), a leading pan-European operator of wind and solar parks and battery storage solutions, on the acquisition of an onshore wind energy portfolio in Mecklenburg Western Pomerania.

The portfolio has a total nominal capacity of 381 MW and comprises 37 operational wind farms, four wind farms under construction with commissioning planned for 2026 and three additional projects ready for construction, scheduled for completion in 2027.

The seller of the portfolio is WIND-projekt Ingenieur-und Projektentwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (WIND-projekt) based in Rostock.

Upon completion of the transaction, BEE's German wind portfolio will increase to 533 MW, bringing the company's total portfolio to 2.1 GW.

Founded in 2016, BEE develops, acquires and operates solar and onshore wind parks as well as battery storage solutions, focusing on the European market. Antin Infrastructure Partners (Antin), through its Flagship Fund V, is the majority shareholder of BEE. Antin is a globally leading infrastructure investor, currently managing approximately €33 billion in assets. Antin primarily invests in the energy and environment, telecommunications, transportation and social infrastructure sectors.

Since 1994, WIND-projekt has specialised in developing innovative energy projects in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Completion of the transaction is expected in the first quarter of 2026 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals, in particular by the German Federal Cartel Authorities.
