Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice with the addition of Dongho Lee as a partner in Seoul.

"The addition of Dongho in our Seoul office is further evidence of our ongoing commitment to expand and strengthen our M&A and private equity practice globally," said White & Case partner John Reiss, Head of the Firm's Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice. "Cross-border M&A activity in Asia-Pacific is growing and our increased capabilities in the region will enable us to deliver leading M&A advice to domestic and international clients looking to capitalize on opportunities."

Lee advises Korean and global clients, including many of the largest Korean conglomerates and private equity firms, on cross-border M&A transactions, investments, strategic alliances and joint ventures. He also advises on capital market transactions, including Rule 144A/Regulation S equity, debt and equity-linked offerings. Lee joins from Herbert Smith Freehills where he was a partner.

"The cross-border M&A market involving Korean entities has been active," said White & Case partner Baldwin Cheng, Regional Section Head, Asia-Pacific Corporate Finance & Restructuring. "Dongho, as an experienced M&A specialist with deep knowledge of the Korean M&A market, is perfectly placed to advise Korean investors looking for outbound investment opportunities in the current low-interest rate environment."

Partner Donald Baker, a member of White & Case's global Executive Committee, said: "Growth in M&A and private equity is a strategic focus of the Firm. The addition of Dongho, a leading New York-qualified M&A lawyer, will further strengthen our capabilities in these areas and enhance our presence in Seoul. It follows our promotion to partner of four M&A lawyers in Asia-Pacific at the start of 2020."
