Global law firm White & Case LLP has added three new partners to its rapidly growing Global Financial Restructuring and Insolvency (FRI) Practice in the US. Jessica Boelter and Bojan Guzina join the Firm's FRI Practice in New York and Chicago, respectively, and Michael Andolina joins the Firm's Global Commercial Litigation Practice in Chicago. The move is a key component of the Firm's initiative to expand its company and sponsor-side work in the restructuring arena.

"We have seen a surge in major company-side mandates. Adding remarkably talented, experienced partners like Jessica, Bojan and Michael to the team puts us in a great position to continue our momentum," said Thomas Lauria, Global Head of White & Case's Global FRI Practice. "They have led numerous company-side restructurings. The ability to attract such talent is a testament to our track record of being innovators and strong advocates for our clients, while offering a global platform that is unmatched in the industry."

Lauria added: "Our Restructuring practice has been built on the strength of our unique ability to drive commercial outcomes by effectively marshalling the Firm's vast resources across multiple disciplines and jurisdictions. We are now being increasingly called on to use that experience to assist companies in need of 'bet-the-company' advice."

Boelter has represented clients in a wide variety of in-court and out-of-court restructuring matters. She regularly handles complex and multifaceted chapter 11 cases, including a number of high-profile mass tort assignments. Out of court, she represents clients in connection with debt-for-equity exchanges and other corporate and debt restructurings.

Guzina represents companies and other parties in complex business reorganizations, out-of-court restructurings and workouts, debt restructurings, and insolvency matters. He has successfully guided multiple clients through in-court restructuring processes, including pre-packaged, pre-arranged and traditional chapter 11 cases. His engagements have ranged across a wide array of industries, including automotive, retail, energy, healthcare, oil and gas, real estate, media, manufacturing, transportation and financial services.

Andolina is a commercial litigator with deep experience in restructuring litigation. He focuses his practice on working with clients to manage crises and defend and resolve complex multi-party and multijurisdictional matters. He also handles a diverse range of litigation matters in state and federal courts across the country, and has significant experience defending class action litigation and conducting internal investigations.

"Adding Michael demonstrates our continued dedication to growing our Commercial Litigation Practice in the US," said Jason Zakia, White & Case's Regional Section Head of the Americas Commercial Litigation Practice. "He has an impressive background in restructuring-related litigation, which is a very busy and growing area for us. Michael is the fourth lateral addition to White & Case's Global Commercial Litigation Practice this year, following the additions of Matthew Devine as a partner in Chicago, Kate Perumal as a partner in Sydney and Tara Lee as a partner in Washington, DC."

All three new partners come from Sidley Austin, where they had spent their entire careers. Boelter and Guzina were the global co-chairs of the firm's restructuring practice, and Andolina was the deputy group head of the firm’s Chicago litigation group.
