Global law firm White & Case has advised Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) on its acquisition of 100 percent of VTG Rail UK from VTG GmbH.
"This was a complex deal for an important infrastructure asset that plays a key role in supporting the UK's economy," said White & Case partner Sandra Rafferty, who co-led the Firm's deal team. USS is one the UK's largest pension funds, with assets of around £84 billion and a strong track record of investing its long-term, patient capital into UK businesses.
VTG UK is the UK's largest lessor of rail freight wagons, with a fleet of more than 4,000 wagons.
