Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised Panasonic Corporation on its equity investment in Blue Yonder, the leading end-to-end supply chain software provider.

"We have advised Panasonic on a strategically significant transaction," said White & Case partner Jun Usami, who co-led the Firm's deal team. "Our cross-border and cross-practice deal team demonstrated the global mergers and acquisitions capabilities for which White & Case is renowned, providing Panasonic with sophisticated advice and guidance to help them successfully expand the strategic partnership with Blue Yonder."

The investment via a secondary sale of shares values Blue Yonder at an enterprise value of US$5.5 billion. Panasonic will have a 20 percent minority ownership stake and one seat on Blue Yonder's board of directors. The equity investment builds on the strong existing strategic relationship between Panasonic and Blue Yonder, including a joint venture in Japan announced in April 2019.
