White & Case Advises EchoStar on Spin-Off and Merger of Its Broadcast Satellite Services Business to DISH

Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised EchoStar Corporation, a global satellite communications company, on the spin-off and merger of its broadcast satellite services business (BSS) with a subsidiary of DISH Network Corporation (DISH).

The transaction included the spin-off and merger of EchoStar’s business that manages, markets and provides broadcast satellite services to companies including DISH, Dish Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V. and their subsidiaries. Also included in the transaction was EchoStar’s telemetry, tracking and control services to satellites owned by DISH, as well as other businesses, related assets and business operations. 

The sale enables EchoStar to focus on growing its broadband services and other initiatives. The transaction closed on September 10, 2019.

EchoStar provides global satellite communications solutions around the world through its Hughes Network Systems and EchoStar Satellite Services business segments.
