White & Case Advises Piab on Acquisition of Tawi

Global law firm White & Case has advised Piab on the acquisition of Tawi from SEB Private Equity.

Tawi is a leading provider of complete light lifting solutions, comprising vacuum and electric lifts as well as crane systems and aftermarket services. Tawi’s lifts are used successfully in various industries all over the world, making it a good strategic fit for Piab. Through this acquisition Piab is evolving automation and taking a world leading position in semi-automated lifting products.

Piab (owned by Patricia Industries, a part of Investor AB) provides smart solutions for the automated world, helping thousands of end users and machine producers in e-commerce logistics, food, pharma, automotive and other manufacturing industries to improve energy-efficiency, productivity and working environments. With more than 500 employees and SEK 1.2 billion in sales in 2018, Piab is a global organization serving customers in almost 70 countries from a network of subsidiaries and distributors.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in January 2020.

The White & Case team which advised on the transaction was led by partners Jan Jensen and Johan Steen and associate Patrik Erblad (all Stockholm) and included partner Oscar Liljeson (Stockholm), counsel Sara Nordin (Geneva) and associates Jonas Brandt, Rebecka Tenenbaum and Anders Westling (all Stockholm).
